CPV (Common Procurement Vocabulary) codes are a standardized classification system used across the EU to describe the subject of public contracts. Every EU tender uses CPV codes to categorize what's being procured.
CPV codes are 8-digit numbers. The first 2 digits represent the division, the 3rd digit the group, digits 4-5 the class, digits 6-7 the category, and the 8th is a check digit.
